Kronk’ Spinach Puffs

This recipe is from my new series on Instagram called Dishes From Disney Movies. The dish is from the movie The Emperor’s New Groove. Every Tuesday in March I will be posting a new recipe from a Disney movie at 11:00am CST. One my Instagram, there is a video of me making these. You can DM me on Instagram if you have any questions!

Kronk’s Spinach Puffs

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Bake Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

- 4-5 cloves of garlic

- olive oil

- 4 c. Spinach, chopped

- juice of one lemon

- 1 egg

- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

- 1 sheet of puff pastry

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit on convection bake. Mince the garlic cloves. You can use 4-5 cloves depending on how much you like garlic. Chop up your spinach. Squeeze the juice from one lemon. Separate the egg yolk from the egg white. If your puff pastry is in your freezer, take it out so it can thaw.

2. Add the mixed garlic and a splash of olive oil into a frying pan. Cook on medium-low heat. Once the garlic starts to brown, add in the spinach. Let this welt down. This will take 1-3 minutes, so keep your eyes on it.

3. Add the spinach garlic mixture int a bowl. Add in lemon juice, the egg yolk, and parmesan cheese. You can add any spices you would like to.

4. On a parchment lined baking sheet, slice the puff pastry sheet into four sections. Space them out on the baking sheet. Evenly scoop the filling onto the puff pastry. Use a spoon the press the filling into a long log from one corner to the opposite corner. Brush the egg white onto two of the opposite corners. Fold the corners on top of the filling. Brush the rest of the egg whites on top of the puff. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool on a cooling rack and enjoy!
