These Pumpkin Spice Scones are perfect to make this Fall! The sweetness from the glaze perfectly complements the spice from the scone!
Pumpkin Spice Scones
Bake time: 22 minutes | Total time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 c. AP flour
- 2 and 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- sprinkle of salt
- 1/4 tsp. Cardamom
- dash of nutmeg
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. Pumpkin purée
- 1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. Brown sugar
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) Unsalted butter, FROZEN
For the glaze:
- 2 TBSP. milk
- 3/4 c. Powdered sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line on baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Whisk together the AP flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, pumpkin purée, brown sugar, the egg, and pure vanilla extract. Set aside for later.
4. Grate your frozen, unsalted butter into your dry ingredients. Smush together with your fingertips or a fork until you make small crumbs of mixture. Pour you wet ingredients from earlier into the crumble mixture. Fold until everything in hydrated.
5. Form the dough into a flattened down ball. Cut 8 even slices and place them on the baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes. When done, let them cool completely On a cooling rack.
6. While the scones are cooling, make the glaze. Whisk together milk and powdered sugar until no clumps remain. Drizzle the glaze on each scone and enjoy!
